New Project

Being an Interactive Designer, I sit in front of a computer screen for a good few hours a day, which I’m pretty used to, but I really miss my days slogging away in the workshops, so have decided I need to do a few “real world” projects. Inevitably computers will factor in these to a certain degree, and the fact that I don’t have any workshop facilites means I’ll have to contract stuff out more, but it should b good fun!

So what projects?

Well, I think I’ll start with a nice fixed wheel… Probably an 80’s pursuit frame, fitted with track ends, and a 650 ish fork for a lo-pro stance, a nice paint job, and some sweet custom graphics…

A light… I’ve got a nice old wioden tripod I picked up for £1 at a flea Market. Despite being a bit rickety, it is very cool, and should make a great basis for a lamp which adheres to my “re-appropriation” philosophy.

A chair… Every designer’s favourite subject, but I’ve never done one. No direction other than that…

I suppose I’d better get cracking!

Exactly like eating pasta with a proper fork

Lots of people try and describe what riding a fixed wheel bike is like… My favourite description is “It’s like firing a shotgun” but i’ve never fired one, so can’t really vouch for this…

I was just eating some pasta in the canteen this lunchtime, and there were no “proper” forks there, so I had to make do with a plastic jobby, which worked, it  just didn’t work quite the way I really wanted it to.

So I conclude:
